Digitary and Parchment Achieving New Heights Together

Jul 14, 2021

On behalf of Digitary and Parchment, we are pleased to announce that our two organisations have formally combined.  Digitary is now part of Parchment, a development we are excited to explain further in this post. As the leading academic credential management platform and network in several countries globally, Digitary will continue to operate with its current brand, technology, team, and unique national network partnership model.  Upon this foundation of continuity, together, we also see opportunities to build new bridges that deliver on the potential of a truly global academic credential network.

Our two companies share a common mission to help turn credentials into opportunities.  We both believe that the learner — the credential holder — is the ultimate motivation for and impact of our work.  The word “help” signals that we serve learners by digitally enabling schools and universities, the central organisations involved in issuing and receiving credentials.  While accelerating the transition of organisations to secure and trusted digital academic credentials is important, making credentials more actionable for learners — more effective at accessing enrolment or employment opportunities — is our north star.

Parchment is a leading platform and network in the United States for the secure issuing and exchange of academic credentials such as transcripts, diplomas, certifications, digital badges, graduation/degree verifications, and more. Tens of thousands of school districts, universities, state education agencies, and other organisations rely on Parchment as issuers, receivers, or both. Tens of millions of learners engage directly with Parchment to access and manage the credentials they’ve earned from these organisations.

Digitary is a leading platform and network in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. Digitary’s scope of solutions is similar to Parchment, serving as an online platform for certifying, sharing, and verifying academic credentials.  One key difference with Digitary is its national network partnership model. In Australia, Digitary supports MyeQuals, the official platform of Australian and New Zealand Universities.  In Canada, Digitary supports MyCreds/MesCertif, Canada’s new, official credential wallet for post-secondary learners and graduates. Through these partnerships, as well as direct relationships with higher education institutions, Digitary is used by organisations in over 135 countries.

You can see why we are so excited about our combination. In a world of global student mobility, and global recruitment of graduates for graduate learning and employment, our combined network can simplify and deepen trust in the exchange and verification of credentials.  At a time of rapidly changing expectations for how academic credentials communicate degree learning outcomes, our combined resources can expand and accelerate our innovation investments.  And with a combined team of 275 employees, our collective experience and complimentary cultures allow us to deepen our relationships with network members, and expand career opportunities for our employees.

So what does this mean for you?  To help answer this important question (and others like it) we have put together a Frequently Asked Question page.  If we missed a topic, please let us know. We want to hear from you here.

Today is Day One for us as unified networks and one organisation helping turn credentials into opportunities… at a unique global scale.  Our sleeves are rolled up; the best is yet to come.

Stay well,
