Digitary joins IMS Global Learning Consortium to advance the digital credentials ecosystem
Digitary unites around the IMS community vision for shared comprehensive and interoperable learner records standards worldwide
Today, Digitary officially became one of the newest members of the growing IMS Global Learning Consortium, a non-profit collective advancing Digital Credentials to support Lifelong Learning. Digitary’s participation further strengthens the organisation’s global impact and brings IMS total membership tally to over 570 members, across 26 countries.
With the introduction of Digitary Badges in April, Digitary saw a fast uptake of their Badges solution from over 15 Higher Education Partners across Australia, New Zealand and Ireland. As Digitary continues to develop their comprehensive digital credentials platform, the importance of aligning with the IMS present and future standards development roadmap is a key focus.
As Digitary continues to innovate and adopt new recognition technologies at scale, the importance of collaborating with members of a well-respected body such as IMS Global and to contribute to existing and emerging learner records standards creates an ever improving credentialling ecosystem.
Digitary looks forward to contributing specifically to the evolution of the Open Badges and Comprehensive Learner Record specifications as well as committing to certify the Digitary Badges Platform.
As a new member, Digitary will strive to generate broader awareness of IMS Global in the wider network including strategic stakeholders within the European Commission supporting projects like ESCO and Europass.
Joining IMS reinforces Digitary’s commitment to further promote and enhance the adoption of learning technology interoperability standards, through the collaborative interactions with all other digital credentials’ ecosystem players, and other Standards Development Organizations like IEEE, PESC, and W3C.
