Leading the Digital Credential Transformation for Higher Education in Canada

The twelve post-secondary institutes that have gone live are:
Ryerson University who entered the digital credential environment by launching as a proof of concept on Digitary CORE in June 2020 as the first institution in Canada to participate in a global network of digital document exchange. Ryerson have officially shifted to the MyCreds™ | MesCertif™ core powered by Digitary, already having provisioned over 22,000 Ryerson students and graduates with credential wallets to date.
Seneca College blazed a trail by being the first Canadian college on the Digitary CORE global network in September 2020. They have now moved to the MyCreds™ | MesCertif™ core. In September 2020, Seneca issued their first group of digitised transcripts on the global network and has since provided 7,988 credential wallets.
University of Lethbridge first launched with digital credentials in December 2020 enabling their graduates from October 2020 and onwards to benefit from digitised credentials. The University is passionate about adopting digital technologies for the purpose of supporting students in a modern learning environment and sees MyCreds™ as a strong shared service solution to enable their goals.
Bow Valley College in Alberta went live in December of 2020 and have been progressive in their approach to adopting digital technologies for the purpose of supporting students in a modern learning environment, enabling their global mobility and seeking to advance their employment success through verified digital credentials.
York University went live in February 2021, meaning students now have secure online access to graduation confirmation and enrolment verification letters. During March they also gained digital access to diplomas enabling them to share these with other educational institutions and potential employers. York have also provisioned more than 2500 credentialing wallets to date.
University of Regina came on board in April 2021, enabling students to access their transcripts. Along with this Spring 2021 graduates will have their digitised credentials available upon graduation in June. Other official documents will be phased in over time, to be available in the growing number of provisioned wallets for students, which currently sits at over 2000 today.
Lambton College in officially launched in April 2021. The initiative will act as a virtual wallet for Lambton students, allowing them to securely access and share digitised academic documents online from anywhere in the world. Lambton College will also be the first in Canada to issue micro-credential badges. To date Lambton College students have shared more than 4,000 unique documents.
Red River College students starting in May 2021 are able to access and share their academic documents with other post-secondary institutes, government, employers and third parties securely and conveniently. The platform brings tremendous efficiencies to the College which – until now – was performing all transcript processing manually. With their digital adoption strategy, processing times are expected to be cut down exponentially; a typical 20-minute task will now be done automatically and nearly instantaneously.
University of Calgary launched in May 2021, giving students private online access to their individual records and full control of when and where their information is shared. With approximately 24,000 paper transcripts requested each year, this will be a valuable new option for the university’s 34,000+ students.
Georgian College who went live in June 2021 believes the new technology is a key resource that will enhance student services and underscore their commitment to being a leader in an increasingly digital world. The credential wallet will allow them to continue to adapt in a meaningful way and provide the best experience possible for their students and alumni.
Western University students and graduates will as of June 2021 now be able to access their transcripts in an electronic format via their own personal virtual wallet. The adoption of this new platform falls in line with the University’s commitment to innovation and modernisation to create sustainable business practices and enhance the student experience. Additionally, this technology brings enormous efficiencies to Western’s internal registration processes, accelerating document processing times.
The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in June 2021, became the first polytechnic in Alberta to launch MyCreds™ | MesCertif™ and provide its students and graduates 24/7 access to parchments and transcripts in their own virtual credential wallet. The partnership with ARUCC is a natural fit for the institution, as SAIT is a global leader in applied education and a community of thinkers, creators and champions leading change and reimagining the workforce of tomorrow.
Post-secondary institutes across Canada are joining the (ARUCC) MyCreds™ | MesCertif™ National Network powered by Digitary’s proven, national-scale technology to provide their students and graduates access to their new personalised wallet. The National Network continues to expand nationwide with new partners coming onboard regularly and expressions of interest open to all post-secondary institutions across Canada. To date, close to 40 post-secondary institutions have signed up to take advantage of the numerous benefits of digital credential adoption.
