Digitary and The Research Consortium for Sustainable International Education (RECSIE), are pleased to announce that from the 21st of October Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT) in Japan officially launches with Digitary CORE providing students and graduates of the institute with access to digitised academic credentials online – anytime, anywhere.
With the digitisation of academic credentials, current students and graduates of Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT) will be able to access their own digitally authenticated graduation certificates and enrolment certificates helping to improve the student experience by enabling access to these digital credentials at any time and from anywhere in the world.
The implementation of Digitary CORE enables students and graduates the ability to share their verified official credentials to any company, organisation or institution in Japan or overseas. Digital credentials, already becoming a global standard, means SIT students and graduates will be provided with greater control and opportunities internationally.
This will also not only reduce the cost of issuing and mailing paper certificates but will also improve the efficiency of operations saving staff time in processing academic records, enabling them to invest more time into enhancing the student experience associated with earned credentials.
With the rise of lifelong learning, student mobility and greater career prospects, employers, institutions and government agencies in Japan and overseas who accept digital certificates can simply see the pre verified credential online, offering a greater experience for learners. Along with a greater experience for institutions, government agencies and hiring companies, as this will improve efficiency by reducing the number of paper certificates and time spent verifying.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Shibaura Institute of Technology in implementing the trusted Digitary CORE platform, enabling secure and trusted issuing of digital academic credentials to SIT’s students and graduates.” said James Murray-Beckman, Chief Operating Officer, Digitary. “We’re proud to be able to assist SIT’s students and graduates with accessing and sharing their verified digital academic credentials wherever they are in the world.”
“Shibaura Institute of Technology is proud to partner with Digitary, to work together to offer students and graduates access to their secure digital academic credentials.” said Yong Jin Chung, General Manager of Division of Academic Affairs in SIT “Students and graduates will be able to access their digital academic credentials anywhere, anytime and be recognised anywhere in the world.”
“We are proud to work with Shibaura Institute of Technology and Digitary, for the entrepreneurial project of implementing one of the country’s earliest digital credentials” said Koichi Nakasaki, Director of RECSIE. “We believe this will impact the entire higher education sector in Japan by contributing to accelerating the digital transformation of the sector”.
Digitary’s international platform has been widely adopted by national networks of higher education institutions in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States, European countries, India, China and the Middle East. The implementation of Digitary CORE has made it possible for current and former students to access official digital academic credentials, competencies, and achievements from anywhere around world.
